Step 1 – What ever your goal, do it for a reason

The reason for your fitness goal will be the driving force behind your commitment to achieving it.

Step 2 – Make sure your goal is reasonable but specific

Be specific about what you’re wanting to achieve, not just, I want to lift more or I want to lose weight.

How much more weight do you want to lift and on what exercises?

How much weight do you want to lose and by when?

Start with smaller, realistic goals and build some confidence and momentum.

Step 3 – Make a clear plan

Knowing what days and what times you’re going to train or setting up a schedule for eating can help to build healthy routines and habits.

Step 4 – Be patient, persevere

Each and every one of us takes a different length of time to adapt to our training, and not all fitness goals are as easy as another.

It takes time and perseverance to see the results you want to see.

Breaking a goal up into smaller sections can help to make it seem more realistic and achievable.

Step 5 – Get a training buddy

Setting off on a fitness journey alone can be daunting at the best of times. Asking a friend to join you not only means you can spend more time with them, you also have someone with you making you accountable for your actions.

Skipping a session or performing a heart hearted set. It can help to keep you motivated.
