A Sun‑Soaked May Bank Holiday Weekend in East Yorkshire
There is something special about the first real taste of summer, and this weekend gave us plenty of it. Cars rolled in, holiday home decks filled up, and children rushed towards the fun with that unmistakable bank holiday feeling. Across the local area, bank holidays always bring a wealth of things to enjoy, including The Country Club and Park’s own choice of relaxed luxury, good company and easy-going fun; the kind of place where you can embrace a drink on the lakeside terrace, or simply find a quiet corner and watch the day unfold.
Feel Good Friday: Kicking Off the Long Weekend in Style
Friday set the tone beautifully. Feel Good Friday ran from 5pm–10pm, with golden evening light across the windows, glasses clinking at the bar and that lovely hum of conversation that says the weekend has properly begun. Members and owners enjoyed 20% off all food & drinks, and the pizza deals at Guy’s Bar & Restaurant were a real highlight: 2 pizzas for £20, or £16 with a fob. Check out the menu.
For the younger guests, the kids’ disco from 6pm–8pm brought lights, favourite songs and plenty of dancing. Parents could relax nearby with drinks, knowing the whole family had something happening.
Then came the quiz and bingo. Teams formed quickly, answers were debated, some confident guesses sparked laughter, and every win brought cheers from around the room. It was friendly, funny and exactly the right way to start a long weekend.
Saturday Morning Breakfast
Saturday began calmly, with early risers heading to the fishing lake from 8am for the fishing match. The water caught the morning light, and there was that peaceful feeling you only get when the day is still new.
Breakfast at Guy’s Bar & Restaurant ran from 8:30am–10:30am on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, serving as the perfect way to start each day and the bank holiday weekend. Whether you chose to dine in and soak up the relaxed atmosphere or opted for a convenient collection to enjoy elsewhere, the delicious full English breakfasts, sandwiches, hot drinks, and more gave everyone a great base to plan the rest of their day.
Saturday Afternoon: Hull City’s Historic Promotion on the Big Screen
Saturday afternoon belonged to hull. The EFL Championship play-off final between Hull City and Middlesbrough was shown live on the big screen at Guy’s Bar & Restaurant, which regularly hosts live sports in the bar for guests to enjoy together. Food and drinks were being served, and the tension built with every chance, tackle and near miss. Hull City secured promotion to the Premier League with a 1-0 win, thanks to Oli McBurnie’s stoppage-time goal deep into extra time.

Saturday Night Karaoke
The party did not stop with the final whistle. Karaoke night began at 8pm. It was a fantastic way to round off the evening. The microphone was passed around eagerly, with classics, crowd favourites and more than a few heartfelt dedications lighting up the room. Laughter and applause filled the air, creating a warm and lively atmosphere that had everyone joining in and enjoying the fun.
Sunday Afternoon: Inflatables Day, Sunshine and Sunday Carvery
Sunday brought another glorious day, and the free Inflatables Day event from 1pm–4pm was a brilliant hit. Bright bouncy castles and slides brought colour to the grass, with excited queues, sunhats, and smiling faces displayed everywhere you looked. It was a wonderful family event where children and parents alike could make lasting memories together.
The Sunday carvery at Guy’s Bar & Restaurant ran from 12pm–5pm, offering a great way to refuel after an energetic afternoon of inflatables. A variety of meats, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and proper platefuls provided a comforting, hearty meal that perfectly complemented the lively, sun-soaked day. It was a relaxed moment where friends and families gathered to share good food and good company, soaking up the atmosphere after hours of fun.

Sunday Evening: Live Music with Wayne Simon
By Sunday evening, the tempo softened perfectly. Wayne Simon started live music from 6pm, keeping the bank holiday vibes going. Guests settled into comfortable seats while the sun began to dip.
Full bellies from the carvery, children winding down after the inflatables, and couples lingering over drinks made the evening feel warm and unhurried. Live entertainment is part of the design of weekends here, adding that extra sparkle without ever feeling forced.
